At McGann Architects we embrace the principles of environmentally sustainable design (ESD) by fully assessing site ESD possibilities and then working closely with our clients to define an extent to which ESD is to be optimized, based on opportunities, budget and aesthetics. We believe that there needs to be a holistic approach to overall design where environmentally sustainable design contributes to the overall building aesthetics.

Our aim is to facilitate the most appropriate design that meets the needs and brief of the client while having an underlying environmentally sustainable basis. McGann Architects aspire to be recognized for delivering quality architecture that is responsive to environmentally sustainably design.

For specialized or specific environmentally sustainable design projects we have available a team of external specialist consultant to offer professional input and continual review throughout the design process and pre-assessment for green ratings.

Case Study:

We were the architects on a four storey alterations and additions project at ANZ Port Villa, Vanuatu.  By using gas driven air conditioning, energy efficient lighting and other environmentally sustainable measures we were able to substantially reduce environmental impact and ongoing costs. The new gas driven air conditioning system is up to 40% cleaner in energy use and reduces electricity use by up to 60% at the branch.
